Been Faithful - Interlude

Album: For the Love of Money

Spoken Word: Andre Ward
"Money doesn't drive us anymore. Many of us have sold drugs, we've shot, we've killed, 'we've 'been shot at, 'we've done time, we've done a 'lot of different things, we stole -- for the love of money. Because we felt like we wasn't gonna have it no other way if we didn't get it like that. And in many respects, that's the only example a lot of us have seen

But when you understand and get the revelation that you're a child of the Most High God -- that God is my Father, He's the God of the universe. He delivered me from the unthinkable. Drugs, being in the street. Like, I literally could have died that night and not have done everything that I've done since then, but yet God delivered me. We have that revelation and we have that understanding and therefore we're not walking around like orphans. Like, I know God is my Father. He's got my back

When we stir up our faith like that, even when we can't see it with our natural eyes, the eyes of our faith are opened and we start to see, like, man, God's going to bless my family. I've been faithful. You and I. Eshon, we've talked about this. You've been faithful, bro, and you've gone through a rough patch. And there's been an extended period of time where this happened, that happened, this happened. Physical issues, monetary issues, job issues, but we refuse to allow the devil to press in on us and accuse God before us -- put pressure on us. 'Well, if God was this, why didn't He do that

We do exactly what Jesus did when He was in the wilderness. He took three scriptures out of the book of Deuteronomy and He hit the devil with the Word of God. And the devil had to flee, and the Bible said he left until an opportune time. In other words, he's gonna come back when he feels like it's an opportune time or it's a feasible time, but guess what: he gonna have the Word of God waiting on him the next time he shows up."
